Ok, so honestly when I see this I don’t see “thinspiration”, I see the scary effects of what crash dieting can do. Knowing that this is an actor playing a part I feel ok saying it was a crash diet. For the man he is playing, I feel so sorry that his family lost him and wish there would have been another way to get his point across without starving. I hope he is resting in peace. Back to the actor, he is scary proof that starving, crash dieting, and losing weight very fast is not cute, sexy, or attractive. He looks ill and ready to die at any moment. This should never be something someone should strive to be. Hugs to you suffering with eating disorders, and I hope you can find your way to recovery.
he lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks. just think about that for a second.
What…..
This is Bobby Sands.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Sands
He was an Irish Political Prisoner who went on a hunger strike, and like so many others who took this action - Died.
To think that he’s used a “thinspo” to encourage girls to lose weight is disgusting and misguided. Bobby sands didn’t take this action lightly, to make boys like him or to lose weight - but to make a stand for his political rights - which were removed from him by the British Government.
get a clue, and grow up. Read a history book - you might learn something, instead of starving yourself.
the “thinspo” was sarcastic.
And if you think this is actually a picture of Bobby Sands then you’re retarted.
This is a picture of Michael Fassbender PLAYING Bobby Sands. He actually looks nothing like the real Bobby Sands who lost more weight than Michael had to for the role (obviously because Michael Fassbender is still alive and Bobby Sands died of starvation).
I KNOW this is michael Fassbender. I know this is from the film Hunger. I’m also an Irish catholic who finds it deeply offensive that this image is used to encourage others to lose weight - sarcastic or not - because sarcasm doesn’t work on the internet.
when you get a clue about how deeply affected people can be from these images both from an psychological view in regards to Eating disorders and from a historical point of view - you can message me, but until then you can keep your fucking trap shut.
